Austin Files for Re-Election to AISD Board

Former school board president Jim Austin is running for another term on the Amarillo Independent School District Board of Trustees.

This week, Austin filed his application to run for another term on the AISD Board. Austin, an Amarillo businessman, has served on the Board of Trustees since 2002, and previously served as president of the school board. Austin was most recently re-elected to the board in 2015.

In addition to Austin, incumbent John Betancourt and newcomer Kimberly Anderson are seeking four-year terms on the board. Three seats will be up for grabs, as well as one two-year unexpired term. That seat is held by Robin R. Malone.

Candidate filing ends on February 15th. Election day is May 4th.
