The Amarillo Police Department is warning residents regarding an ongoing scam.
According to APD, a citizen was sent a letter and realized the letter led to a scam. Officers say the scam represents a fake sweepstakes, and reminds residents they cannot win a sweepstakes that they did not enter.
“And if it sounds too good to be true, IT IS NOT TRUE,” APD said in the release.
