On Thursday, Hays filed with the City of Amarillo to officially run for re-election to the Amarillo City Council. Hays’ filing came along with a Facebook video announcing her filing, making her the first person to file for the Amarillo City Council, Place 1 seat. She previously won the seat in 2017, ousting then-incumbent Elisha L. Demerson.
