APD Warns Residents on Auto Burglaries

Several auto burglaries have been reported in Amarillo this year and authorities want to make sure you know how to keep yourself from becoming the next victim.

According to APD, 157 burglaries have been reported in Amarillo, so far this year. While that number is slightly down from the 198 burglaries reported at this time last year, authorities hope to keep the number down. APD says it plans to “proactively patrol” to prevent auto burglaries, but is asking residents to avoid leaving change, door openers, keys, identifying information, and electronics in vehicles.

If you have any information about an auto burglary in Amarillo, you are asked to call APD’s non emergency line at 806-378-3038.
