Two people were taken to a local hospital following an accident at 6th Avenue and South Prospect.
On Thursday, August 8th, at around 5:01PM, officers were dispatched to Southwest 6th Avenue and South Prospect on the report of a major wreck. A 2016 Harley Davidson, driven by a 34 year old male, had been westbound on 6th Avenue. A 1997 Toyota Camry, driven by a 51 year old female, was southbound on Prospect. Authorities say the driver of the Camry failed to yield right of way from a stop sign, pulling out in front of the Harley and causing the motorcycle to strike the car.
The driver of the motorcycle was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, while his passenger, a 28 year old female, was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver and passenger of the Camry were uninjured. The driver of the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet, APD reports.
This incident is being investigated by the APD Traffic Investigation Squad.
