The Texas Tech School of Veterinary Medicine took one step closer to being a reality on Thursday, as officials broke ground of the school’s future home in Amarillo.
In a ceremony, officials from the Texas Tech University System and other dignitaries joined together to break ground on the site in anticipation of the establishment of the school. The Texas Tech Veterinary School, which will be the second vet school in Texas, is expected to enroll its first class in 2021, officials from the University say.
Texas Tech says the project is funded by over $90 million in donor support and a $17.35 appropriation from the State of Texas.
