Republican U.S. House hopeful Josh Winegarner is reporting a massive campaign haul for the final quarter of 2019.
On Tuesday, Winegarner’s campaign announced raising $345,565 during the final fundraising quarter of 2019. Winegarner’s campaign also reporting holding over $282,000 in cash heading into the new year as the race to replace U.S. Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-Clarendon).
“I’m incredibly proud and humbled that roughly 92% of the contributions we’ve received have come from individual donors, not PACs, the vast majority of whom are from the Panhandle, Texhoma, and North Texas,” Winegarner said in a statement. “That level of local support is almost unheard of these days and is a comment on the priority local people place on supporting a candidate with deep roots in the district.”
Winegarner is one of 15 Republicans running to replace Thornberry in 2020. The only other Republican to announce fundraising totals thus far is Jason Foglesong, who reported raising $3,255 in the final quarter.
Voters will decide this primary on March 3.
