Amarillo officials confirmed Tuesday the death of an individual with the COVID-19 virus.
According to the City of Amarillo, officials reported Tuesday the first death in the local area attributed to the COVID-19 virus. This comes after six cases have been reported in the Amarillo area, including two cases in Randall County.
The City of Amarillo status alert level is currently set at Level Orange, officials said.
