Thornberry Appears in New TV Spot for Winegarner

Retiring U.S. Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-Clarendon) is back on the campaign trail, appearing in a television spot for congressional hopeful Josh Winegarner.

In the new spot from Ag Together PAC, Thornberry appears to signal his support for Winegarner in the July 14 runoff for U.S. House District 13. This is one of Thornberry’s most public appearances for Winegarner, and follows his endorsement of the lobbyist-turned-politician prior to the March 3 primary election.

“He’s a workhorse,” Thornberry says of Winegarner in the new TV spot. “Not a show horse.”

The ad has already hit local airwaves counter to ads by Ronny Jackson, Club for Growth, Miles of Greatness Fund, and the Winegarner campaign.

As we previously reported, according to the most recent Federal Election Commission reports filed by Ag Together PAC, the group had been funded exclusively by Winegarner’s employer, Texas Cattle Feeders Association at the time of the latest filing.

Early voting in this race begins June 29.
