U.S. House District 13 Republican nominee Ronny Jackson sent out an email to supporters on Friday, saying that he and his wife were confronted by an Antifa protester while in Washington on Thursday.

According to the email, Jackson said after leaving President Trump’s Republican re-nomination acceptance speech at the White House, he and his wife were confronted by an Antifa protestor, who Jackson said was “screaming violent obscenities.”

“Thankfully a brave Secret Service officer subdued this ‘peaceful protester’ before things got out of hand, but the event was eye opening to the future liberal Democrats want for our country,” Jackson’s campaign wrote in the email.

Jackson was attending the Republican National Convention’s final night of events at the White House before being confronted. Jackson also referenced Trump’s speech in the email, saying, “The speech was amazing, and I’m FIRED UP to help conservatives WIN up and down the ballot in November.”

A former White House physician under Presidents Trump, Barack Obama, and George W. Bush, Jackson is now the Republican nominee for U.S. House District 13 and will face Democrat Gus Trujillo and Libertarian Jack B. Westbrook for the seat this November.
