Gov. Greg Abbott has thrown his support behind the Republican nominee to replace retiring U.S. Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-Clarendon) in Texas’ 13th Congressional District.
On Tuesday, Abbott announced his endorsement of Dr. Ronny Jackson for Congress in District 13. The endorsement is a high-profile one for Jackson, who has also picked up the support of a number of national Republican politicians, including President Donald Trump and U.S. Sen. Josh Hawley.
Jackson is currently slated to face Democrat Gus Trujillo and Libertarian Jack B. Westbrook in the November general election for the seat. Early voting begins October 13.
