Amarillo Councilman Sauer Files for Re-Election

Amarillo City Council Place 3 incumbent Eddy Sauer filed to seek re-election on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, Sauer filed to seek his third term to the Amarillo City Council. With his filing, Sauer joins retired Austin Hose CEO Tom Scherlen in seeking the Place 3 seat. Jolene Santiago has also announced her candidacy for the office, but has not yet filed for the ballot.

No other candidates filed applications on Tuesday.

Candidates have until Friday, February 12 to file for a spot on the ballot. Election Day is May 1.

  • Hobert “Gunny” Brown, Marine Corps veteran and former Save Amarillo PAC treasurer

  • Jason Foglesong, high school teacher and former Republican precinct chair

City Council Place 3

  • Eddy Sauer, incumbent and dentist

  • Tom Scherlen, former CEO of Austin Hose
