Local social work instructor Ali Ramos is officially on the ballot as a candidate for Amarillo City Council, Place 4.
On Thursday, Ramos filed her paperwork with the Amarillo City Secretary’s office to challenge Place 4 incumbent Councilman Howard Smith. With her filing, Ramos joined the field for Place 4 that already includes Smith and behavioral counselor Sharyn Delgado.
As we previously reported, Ramos is challenging Smith on a platform of moving election dates to November and changing Amarillo to a single-member district form of government.
Candidates have until Friday, February 12 to file for a spot on the ballot. Election Day is May 1.
