Place 3 Amarillo City Councilman Eddy Sauer is asking voters for another two years in office.
On Wednesday, Sauer announced that he would seek a third term on the Amarillo City Council, joining what is quickly becoming a large and robust field of candidates. Sauer released a video on Facebook detailing his campaign announcement, in which he said he is excited about the opportunity of serving another term in office.
“I'm very excited about Amarillo,” Sauer said. “I'm passionate about the things that we need still to do.”
Sauer has already drawn two challengers in the race for Amarillo City Council Place 3. Former Austin Hose CEO Tom Scherlen and licensed cosmetologist Jolene Santiago have launched bids for Sauer’s seat.
Filing for spots on the ballot begins January 13. Election Day is May 1.
