Peggy Carter Thomas was endorsed by a local political action committee this week in her bid for a seat on the Amarillo College Board of Regents.
Thomas, a licensed occupational therapy assistant who is seeking a seat on the Amarillo College Board of Regents in the May 1 election, picked up an endorsement on Thursday from the Amarillo Taxpayers PAC. The PAC, which was influential in the defeat of Propositions A and B last year, said Thomas is a “strong fiscal conservative who is passionate about education in our community” in their endorsement of her campaign.
This is the first major endorsement for Thomas, who is one of six candidates set to appear on the May ballot. Thomas is joined on the ballot by incumbents Anette Carlisle and Dan Henke and challengers John Betancourt, Adrian Meander, and Don Nicholson. Voters will be able to cast ballots for up to three candidates in that race.
