Railroad Commission Candidate Posts Risqué Video Promoting Campaign

Republican candidate for Texas Railroad Commissioner Sarah Stogner posted a video last week that is raising eyebrows as voters head to the polls.

A video posted by the candidate to social media shows Stogner sitting topless atop an oil pump jack before her logo appears across the screen. On Twitter, the candidate shared the video with the caption “They said I needed money. I have other assets.”

Stogner’s video resulted in her endorsement from the San Antonio Express News being pulled and given to fellow primary candidate Dawayne Tipton. However, Stogner said the video has allowed her to engage voters in a way that was not previously on the table.

“The video is being perceived just as I desired, a knock on the door and now that door is open,” Stogner told Fox News. “It has allowed me to engage folks who appreciated my passion and concerns.”

Stogner is running in the Republican primary for Texas Railroad Commissioner against incumbent Wayne Christian and challengers Tipton and Tom Slocum, Jr. A fifth candidate, Marvin “Sarge” Summers, will also appear on the ballot, but has passed away.

Election Day is Tuesday.
