Amarillo Mayor Cole Stanley gave his backing to one of the candidates running to replace State Rep. Four Price (R-Amarillo) on Wednesday.
In a post on social media, the campaign of Caroline Fairly announced that she had won the endorsement of Stanley. Stanley praised Fairly, saying that she has his complete and total endorsement.
“Amarillo needs strong leaders that are firm in their faith, defenders of family, and willing to fight for our freedoms,” Stanley said. “Caroline is principled, focused, and is ready for this challenge. Miss Fairly is highly intelligent and has the skillset needed to represent this community.”
Fairly, a medical negotiator, is running for Texas House District 87 in the upcoming Republican primary election. Thus far, Fairly has one announced opponent — realtor Cindi Bulla — in addition to another potential opponent who has filed a campaign treasurer appointment without officially announcing his candidacy.
Ballot filing begins next month. The Republican primary election is scheduled for Tuesday, March 5, 2024.
