Potter County Republicans File for Precinct Chair

The period to file applications for the March primary election is currently underway, and several Republicans have filed to run for precinct chair positions in Potter County.

According to the Texas Secretary of State, Potter County has had several filings from prospective candidates for various precinct chair seats. Thus far, none of the candidates will be opposed for the primary election, unless they draw a challenger before the filing deadline.

The current candidates are as follows:

  • Precinct 121 — Tom Roller

  • Precinct 123 — Mike Yazbek

  • Precinct 125 — Martha Sell

  • Precinct 126 — Jana May

  • Precinct 222 — William Meyerholtz

  • Precinct 224 — Alex Casias Jr

  • Precinct 321 — Samantha Usnick

  • Precinct 324 — Mickey McCurdy

  • Precinct 325 — Geni Arndt

  • Precinct 426 — Sherie Wood

Some of the candidates are incumbents, while others are newcomers for this election cycle. Precinct chairs are elected to represent their individual areas of the county and serve on the board of directors for the county party, participating in organizational meetings led by the county chair.

Candidate filing will continue through Monday, December 11. The primary election is scheduled for Tuesday, March 5, 2024.
