City Council to Consider $1.8 Million in Spending

The City of Amarillo has published the agenda for the upcoming February 21st City Council meeting. Included on the agenda is $1,795,352.32 in spending items.

The spending items, spread across four items all listed on the consent agenda, are expected to be passed with a single vote. The largest item, item 2K, will approve a $925,745.32 contract with Davidson Oil to purchase 314,076 gallons of fuel for various fuel tanks across various city departments. The other items are:

  • 2J: $239,700 to WBI Inc. for emergency rental of belt press and operator to ensure TCEQ compliance at Hollywood Road Wastewater Treatment Plant

  • 2M: $439,880 to DACO Fire Equipment for firefighting protective gear

  • 2N: $190,000 to Lone Star Emergency Group for fire truck OEM parts

The council will also consider various second readings of previously approved items, pushing back the effective date for a proposed revenue increase by Southwestern Public Service Company, a property lease agreement with Avis Budget Car Rental (details of the agreement were not included in the agenda packet), converting two sergeant positions at APD to officer positions, and a review and acceptance of the City of Amarillo Annual Comprehensive Plan for the year ending September 30, 2022.
