Tonya C. Winston to Top Mayoral Ballot

Tonya C. “Lady Butterscotch” Winston will top the ballot for Mayor of Amarillo in the May 6th election after a ballot drawing on Wednesday morning.

During the drawing, candidates (or their representatives) drew ping pong balls from a basket held by the City Secretary. Candidates drew in the order they applied for a place on the ballot. Topping the ballot for the four City Council places are Ray White, Don Tipps, Katt Massey, and Les Simpson.

After the drawing, City Manager Jared Miller gave a presentation broadly outlining city policies for the candidates present.
