City of Amarillo Releases Independence Day Schedule

In observance of Independence Day, the City of Amarillo has announced various closures and changes to the service schedule for the Fourth of July.

Amarillo City Hall, as well as the Amarillo City Transit, Amarillo Municipal Court, and Amarillo Public Libraries will be closed.

Residential solid waste customers who are usually serviced on Tuesday will be serviced on Wednesday, while commercial customers will be serviced on Monday. Curbside collection will not be available during the holiday. City brush sites and the city landfill will be closed.

City golf courses will remain open, though green fee prices will utilize weekend/holiday rates.

In a news release, the city encouraged the public to “celebrate our freedoms and rights as Americans” while also noting that “fireworks are illegal in the city limits.”
