The Amarillo Pioneer Editorial Board recommends voting AGAINST Canyon ISD’s Proposition A.
It wouldn’t feel like a local election without a tax hike on the ballot. The latest local government entity to come forward with a proposed tax hike on the ballot is the Canyon Independent School District.
Absent extraordinary circumstances, our editorial board hesitates to back any tax increase. We don’t take the challenges of managing a budget lightly, but we can’t in good conscience back this increase.
