Former mayoral candidate Jeffrey McGunegle has officially filed his campaign treasurer appointment as part of his bid to run as a write-in candidate in the Texas House District 87 race.
In a post on his campaign’s Facebook page, McGunegle said he brings “solutions of practicality but of great power.” During his mayoral campaign in 2023, he earned 6th place out of 6 candidates with 116 of the 21,168 votes cast.
McGunegle, if he is able to qualify as a write-in candidate, will face Republican Caroline Fairly and Democrat Timothy Gassaway. Incumbent Republican Four Price is not seeking reelection.
Election Day is Tuesday, November 5th.
