One former city council contender is making another run for the job this year.
Sherie Wood, a cashier, filed this week to run for Place 1 on the Amarillo City Council. Wood previously sought the same position in 2023, failing to make the runoff election that was eventually won by Josh Craft. Craft is not seeking re-election this year.
In addition to Wood, Patrick Miller, a former Amarillo College regent, is also seeking the seat.
Candidates have until February 15th to file for the ballot. Election Day is May 3rd.
