The Amarillo Economic Development Corporation’s Board of Directors will meet on Tuesday, January 7th, to discuss potential changes to the articles of incorporation and bylaws.
The meeting will be the second of the newly appointed temporary board formed by Amarillo City Council late last year following mass board resignations in the wake of the RANGE controversy.
The meeting will begin with a public comment period, which will be followed by a closed-door executive session. During the executive session, the board will discuss the articles of incorporation and bylaws, as well as several economic development projects.
After the executive session, the board will reconvene in an open session to approve the minutes from recent meetings, discuss amendments to the articles of incorporation and bylaws, then set the date of the next meeting.
According to a set of draft agendas published by the city, Amarillo City Council could consider approving amendments to the AEDC’s articles of incorporation as early as their January 14th meeting, though there are also items to approve the articles of incorporation and bylaws on the draft version of the January 28th agenda.
Amarillo City Council is also expected to begin replacing the current temporary AEDC board as soon as their February 11th meeting.
The upcoming January 7th meeting of the AEDC Board will begin at 9:00 am and will take place on the 9th floor of the First Bank Southwest Tower. The agenda for the meeting can be found on the AEDC’s website at this link.
