Amarillo College to Host Sessions on Business, Child Care Fields

"Amarillo College will showcase three programs of study this spring – in Business Management, Business Technology and Child Care – each with the potential to propel adult students into high-demand occupations.

AC’s Office of Adult Outreach Services invites prospective students to attend any of three informational sessions to learn more about these programs and how they are aligned with rewarding careers that mesh with labor market demand.

All three informational sessions are free and each will address the specific requirements (time, cost, etc.) and the potential of all three fields of study, including projections of the local job market in the years ahead.

Those in attendance can register to win a $300 Amarillo College scholarship. Financial aid and enrollment specialists will be on hand to provide one-on-one assistance to anyone interested in undertaking those processes.

All three informational sessions will be conducted in the Byrd Business Building, Room 213, on the Washington Street Campus, according to the following dates/times:

  • Thursday, March 22 at 5:30 p.m.

  • Friday, April 27 at 9:30 a.m.

  • Thursday, May 24 at 5:30 p.m.

“The career fields in Business Management, Business Technology and Child Care are on track for robust growth over the next few years,” Maury Roman-Jordan, AC’s director of Adult Outreach Services, said. “

“Prospective students who attend our sessions will learn not only about some wonderful career opportunities, but also about the many support services the College provides, such as academic tutoring, career exploration, financial aid and scholarships, and so much more.”
