Man Killed in Sunday Motorcycle Wreck, Amarillo Police Say

A man has died following a motorcycle wreck that occurred on Sunday, according to the Amarillo Police Department.

APD reports that on Sunday, at 12:37am, officers were dispatched to the 7100 block of Interstate 27 southbound on the report of a motorcycle crash. A 2004 Harley Davidson, driven by Micah Neuhaus, 30, had been southbound on Interstate 27, exiting at Bell Street. Neuhaus lost control of his motorcycle and ended up in a ditch where he struck a culvert.

Neuhaus died at the scene as a result of his injuries. Justice of the Peace J. Tracy Byrd has ordered an autopsy. Neuhaus was not wearing a helmet. Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in this collision.

This incident is currently under investigation by the Amarillo Police Department Traffic Investigation Unit.
