Amarillo City Councilmembers will discuss approving the budget for the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation and medical contracts for the City on Tuesday.
During the Council's Tuesday meeting, the Councilmembers will consider approving the AEDC's budget for the upcoming fiscal year. The $3.144 million operating budget will cover marketing, administrative expenses and project support costs for the upcoming fiscal year, if approved.
For the consent agenda, Councilmembers will consider approving renewals of contracts for medical issues for the City. Specifically, Councilmembers will renew a contract with Aetna, the city's medical carrier, and Maxor, the City's prescription benefit manager. Both contracts are for the 2019 calendar year.
Councilmembers will also consider authorizing the Amarillo Convention and Visitors Council to bid on hosting the 2021 Texas Recreation and Park Society Institute and Expo. City officials say the convention would bring a $500,000 economic impact to the area.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 4th, in the Council Chambers of Amarillo City Hall (509 Southeast 7th). This meeting begins at 1pm.
No public comment will be held during this meeting. For public comment, residents are asked to attend at noon.
