Amarillo Police Chief Ed Drain has been named the sole finalist to take the role of police chief in Plano.
This week, the City of Plano named Drain as the sole finalist to succeed interim police chief Daniel Curtis. Drain was not one of the three original finalists named by Plano to take the job, but would be returning to the city after originally coming to Amarillo from Plano.
Drain has served as APD Police Chief since 2016.
The Plano City Council is set to meet with Drain this week, and CBS-DFW reports an official vote to hire Drain for the role could come this month.
