Democrat Gus Trujillo will officially kick off his bid to replace retiring U.S. Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-Clarendon) this week.
On Thursday, Trujillo will host his campaign kickoff at S&J Coffee House in downtown Amarillo. Trujillo is inviting voters from all political parties to join him for a “genuine conversation about the future of District 13.”
“I love our area, my home, and the values we share in our precious representative democracy,” Trujillo said. “I hope to earn your support as I take this extraordinary journey to serve you.”
Trujillo is an office manager for the Amarillo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and previously worked as a congressional intern in Thornberry’s office. He is facing Greg Sagan and Timothy Gassaway in the March 3 Democratic primary, with hopes of facing the Republican nominee for the seat in November.
The event will begin at 5:30PM on Thursday, January 9th.
