O'Rourke Endorses Jackson Challenger Kathleen Brown

Former U.S. Rep. Beto O’Rourke has endorsed U.S. Rep. Ronny Jackson’s (R-Amarillo) challenger ahead of the 2022 general election.

In a statement released on Tuesday, O’Rourke, who is the Democratic nominee for Texas governor in the 2022 election, endorsed Kathleen Brown for election to the U.S. House of Representatives for Texas’ 13th District. Brown is a Wichita Falls attorney who is challenging Jackson to represent the congressional district that spans most of the Texas Panhandle, as well as part of North Texas.

“By working together up and down the ballot, we are going to overcome the extremism we see in this state today and deliver for the people of Texas,” O’Rourke said in his statement.

In addition to Brown, O’Rourke also endorsed 28 other Democrats running for congressional seats in Texas, including several incumbents.

While Brown is endorsed by O’Rourke, Jackson has received the endorsement of former President Donald J. Trump, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller, and several other Republican elected officials.

The election for congress in District 13 will be decided on Nov. 8.
