U.S. Rep. Ronny Jackson will be the keynote speaker for the Potter County Republican Party convention this weekend.
According to County Chairman Dan Rogers, Jackson will speak with attendees at this weekend’s county convention. A recorded address from Senator Ted Cruz, who is seeking re-election in 2024, is also expected to be played for those in attendance.
The county convention is the first step on the road to the party’s state and national conventions, where important decisions will be made for the party’s future. During the county convention, those who voted in the Republican primary will be eligible to be elected as delegates to the state party convention. Participants who are affiliated as Republicans will also have the opportunity to vote on resolutions that may be forwarded to the state party for consideration as the Texas GOP crafts its platform.
The convention will be held on Saturday, beginning at 1:30pm at Cornerstone Church at 1111 North Buchanan.
